                                Here's what's coming up in February-Early April for our   ~~~ Blue Water Women~~

Whale Watch Sail and Tidepools: February 16th  9:00am - 3:00pm $85 Sailing Trip and Coastal Hiking ~ No Experience Needed!

Join us for a  morning sail on the beautiful Chardonnay II, a 70' sailing yacht located at at the Santa Cruz Harbor. We'll set sail in search of California Gray whales which are migrating through our waters en route to their calving grounds in Baja, Mexico. Complimentary pastries, fruit, champagne, coffee and sodas will be provided by the Chardonnay crew.  After our sail we'll caravan to Davenport Landing where our naturalists will explore the intertidal rocky shore at a minus low tide with you. Bring a lunch to enjoy on the beach.   We are anticipating lots of fun exploring our incredible Marine Sanctuary, from land to sea!  Space is limited: To better your chances of joining our group, please respond by  February 5th (so that the sailboat can be reserved; price includes 3 hour sail and naturalist-led activities afterwards).

Tidepool Scramble and Seafood Forage: February 18th 12:30pm-4:30pm $48 with wetsuit; $40 if you bring your own  Family Trip

Hope you can join us for a day of exploring the rocky intertidal coast. We'll gather for coffee at the Whale City Bakery in Davenport Landing (10 minutes north of Santa Cruz). From there, we'll caravan to Davenport Landing to join a Blue Water naturalist as we explore the tidepools. Wetsuits are recommended to really "experience" the coast. We'll harvest some mussels to cook right on the beach using a gourmet recipe. Group size is limited to 14.   Email for more details!  Children who are 8 years old or older can join us for $38 - $30


Sea Otter Watch, Elkhorn Slough by Kayak: March 8th 9:30am - 3:30pm $75 Kayak Trip ~ Beginners Welcomed!
Leaving from Moss Landing, we'll have a leisurely paddle through Elkhorn Slough. Spring birding is excellent with many species in breeding plumage. Our trip will begin with a quiet observation of 20-30 sea otters that reside in Moss Landing Harbor. Beginners welcomed.

Sea Kayak Skills and Safety Class, Elkhorn Slough: March 30th 10:00am - 4:00pm $95

Sea Kayaking skills, safety, assisted and self rescues are taught during this fun and wet day! Class size limited: to six women. Certificate cards issued upon completion of course.

Whales and Wildlife Kayak to Brunch: April 12th (Family trip) April 13th (Women's Trip) 9:00am-2:30pm $60
Join us for a morning paddle in search of mama Gray Whales with their plump babies in tow. During their spring migration to Alaska, mother and calf pairs travel close to shore through our coastal waters. Leaving from Santa Cruz harbor we'll search for whales and other marine mammals. After our morning paddle let's gather at Aldos for brunch on their outdoor patio above the harbor (brunch on own). On the family trip, children who are 12 years old or older can join us for $40
